Press ReleasesFabcon Increases Efficiency and Design Options with Addition of Wider BedsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- November 15, 2006 SAVAGE, Minn. ? Nov. 15, 2006 ? Increasing current production capacity by 23 percent, Fabcon, a leading precast panel producer, announces the installation of four new 12-foot wide beds in its Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania facilities. In contrast to Fabcon's rolling beds that are eight-feet wide, the new, wider beds are capable of producing panels up to 12-feet wide, and 13 1/2-feet wide in its Pennsylvania facility. When combined with Fabcon's eight-foot wide panels, which are most economical to ship, customers are able to purchase a cost-effective product that also meets a broad range of design needs. Wider panels give Fabcon the opportunity to provide customers with additional aesthetic design options, especially for buildings requiring large window or door openings. Dock doors, for instance, typically measure up to nine-feet wide. When using eight-foot panels, the opening needs to be supported by numerous joints to accommodate the size of the opening. With wider panels, Fabcon is able to form the dock door using a single panel, resulting in fewer joints and providing a more uniform look to the entire building. "As a company that focuses on customer-driven innovation, we found it essential to provide more design options for our customers," said Jason Hensley, manager of research and development, Fabcon. "Our wider panels increase the aesthetic options for our customers who require wider openings in their buildings and they also enable a diminished erection time, speeding up construction without compromising quality." The introduction of the wider beds increases the overall production capacity of Fabcon's facilities, but also allows the company to produce panels measuring up to 13 1/2-feet wide. Wider beds are at full production in all of the facilities. Company Background For Further Information Return to Press Releases |
