Attended by nearly 600 people, the celebration included plant tours, a showcase highlighting Fabcon's innovative patents, equipment and panel designs, keynote speakers and a custom sheet cake specially designed to look like Fabcon's famous VersaCore panel. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty proclaimed Aug. 11, 2006, as "Innovation in Manufacturing Day" to recognize companies like Fabcon who continue to raise the bar in manufacturing and technology achievements. With 84 patents filed in the areas of plant automation, original panel design and innovative manufacturing equipment, Fabcon's accomplishments are representative of the success achieved by many Minnesota companies. "Our celebration not only commemorated our achievements of the past 35 years, but also the achievements of all innovators in the manufacturing industry," said Mike Le Jeune, president, CEO, Fabcon.
