FABCON?S VERSACORE PRECAST CONCRETE PANELS PROVIDE VERSATILITY AND COST EFFICIENCY FOR TALL BUILDING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- December 10, 2003

SAVAGE, Minn. ? Dec. 10, 2003 ? Fabcon, a leading manufacturer of precast concrete panels, now produces VersaCore? precast concrete panels exceeding 50 feet in length, successfully satisfying a recent market push for taller precast concrete structures. VersaCore's unique structure and design gives builders increased versatility and cost savings for tenants of tall structures.

"When constructing a building that is, for example, 50 feet high, it makes sense to use precast panels that are 50 feet long," said Mike Le Jeune, president and CEO, Fabcon. "Fabcon's ability to produce panels of such lengths saves contractors a considerable amount of time and cost, because the panels don't need to be pieced together to meet height requirements."

VersaCore's structural capabilities offer numerous advantages over regular precast concrete panels in the construction of tall buildings. Unlike traditional precast panel systems, which generally tie three independent layers together to create a single panel, each VersaCore panel is manufactured as a whole, creating a single precast concrete panel that can better maintain its structural integrity. While traditional multilayered precast concrete panels may be prone to bend, bow or pull apart under pressure from outside elements such as freezing temperatures, high winds or solar heating, VersaCore panels maintain integrity and strength. In addition, VersaCore panels generally weigh less than traditional precast panels, enabling builders to create taller buildings without adding as much stress to the structure.

VersaCore panels also offer the potential for increased versatility for tall building owners and tenants. For example, developers of speculation buildings might use taller VersaCore panels to more easily attract tenants, because taller buildings can offer more versatility in use. In today's competitive marketplace, big box retailers and other tenants often want a facility with the size and ability to store inventory on-site. VersaCore panels for tall building structures also enable real estate optimization, allowing builders and developers to take full advantage of the land they have available by adding height to a structure.

Fabcon continues to reach higher for its latest construction projects, with new buildings being completed using VersaCore panels that exceed 50 feet. For example, the District Council 82 building in Little Canada, Minn., which began erection on Nov. 3, 2003, was completed in 13 days using VersaCore panels ranging from 52 to 57 feet tall. Fabcon's structural capabilities, expertise in design and field crew skill will continue to drive the company's successes.
